Bernardo Silva of Manchester City put an end to rumors about his future on August 23 by agreeing to a new contract that will keep him at the Etihad until 2026.

Prior to that, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona were both frequently mentioned as potential suitors for his services.

The Ligue 1 champions reportedly wanted to bring the 29-year-old to Paris in 2022 and tried again in the most recent transfer window, but both attempts were unsuccessful.

According to the report, the Portugal international expressed a wish to travel to Parc des Princes but Manchester City's management forbade him from doing so.

In the end, the former AS Monaco player "accepted his fate" and signed an agreement to stay with Pep Guardiola's team.

According to Le10, Silva's new contract has a €58 million release clause, which makes it easier for PSG to recruit him in 2024 even though the Manchester City player may no longer be their top priority next summer.
