News now: Man City vs Atletico Madrid kick-off delayed after extreme weather

Man City's final preseason match against Atletico Madrid has a later kickoff time.

When Pep Guardiola's team takes against the La Liga heavyweights at the World Cup Stadium in Seoul today, their summer schedule will come to a conclusion. Due to bad weather, City's game has been delayed by 30 minutes from its original start time of 8 p.m. local time, or noon in the UK.

A sudden downpour has left the World Cup Stadium pitch with surface water, and less than an hour before the game was scheduled to start, rain is still falling.

The organizers are certain that the game will still go place as long as the rain stops, they can clean the pitch, and the ground has sufficient drainage. The game is City's last competition before their Community Shield showdown against Arsenal at Wembley the following Sunday.

Erling Haaland starts up front for Guardiola's team against the La Liga team, as Kevin de Bruyne sits on the bench.

Ederson, Walker, Stones, Dias, Laporte, Rodrigo, Bernardo, Foden, Grealish, Alvarez, and Haaland make up the City XI versus Atleti lineup. The replacements are Ortega, Carson, Phillips, Ake, Cancelo, Kovacic, De Bruyne, Gomez, Akanji, Perrone, Bobb, Palmer, Lewis, and McAtee.
