Santi Aouna claims that Paris Saint-Germain has sent Manchester City a part-exchange offer that includes €40 million in cash and the opportunity to sign a player because they want Bernardo Silva to be one of their flagship acquisitions this summer.

The treble-winning Portuguese attacker, who still has a contract at the Etihad until the summer of 2025, is valued at a steep €100 million by PSG, but the Premier League champions have little interest in the proposal and are still planning to start the new season with Silva as a member of their current team.

It is obvious why Manchester City would not want to part with another quality player after losing club captain Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona and Riyad Mahrez getting close to a move to Saudi Arabia. In particular, Silva scored a brace against Real Madrid in the Champions League semifinals to help Manchester City win the treble last season.

Despite the fact that Silva's contract gives the Sky Blues power, the player has been itching for a fresh challenge for some time, and potential offers from other teams may influence his choice. Barcelona's financial struggles make their chances of signing the 28-year-old player seem extremely remote, giving PSG an advantage in the battle to get him.

The French sensation was left at home for PSG's preseason tour of Japan, which has dominated the news for the past 24 hours, and as a result, PSG is naturally trying to sell Kylian Mbappe. The Parisians are worried that Mbappe, who is in the final year of his contract, has a verbal agreement to join Santiago Bernabeu for free in the summer of 2024. The player is currently in the final year of his deal.

If Mbappe leaves this summer, one has the impression that PSG will work hard to sign Silva as another star player. Having already spent time in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco, where he won the league title after assisting his former team to the Champions League semi-finals in the 2016–17 season, the midfielder is leaning toward a move to the French capital.

It is also widely believed in France that Silva's wife has already begun looking at properties close to PSG's training facility, raising the possibility of a transfer to the French team. It's interesting to note that Manchester City has Nicolo Barella of Inter Milan on speed dial as a potential substitute given their knowledge that PSG would return with a better offer for Silva.

The 26-year-old international from Italy just finished a strong season in which he guided his team to the Champions League final, but he won't be cheap. It's unclear if City will allow the 28-year-old to leave for a somewhat lower price, despite PSG's willingness to make an all-out effort to sign him.
