By signing Benjamin Pavard this summer, Manchester City might be able to replace Kyle Walker with a better player.

It was later alleged that the Citizens had picked the 27-year-old as the most suitable alternative after it was reported that the Englishman had verbally agreed to join the German club.

It has been said that the Bundesliga team is willing to accept a €30 million (£25 million) asking price for the defender this summer.

Better than Walker?

We believe that landing a deal for the Frenchman would not only be shrewd business, but it would also provide them with an improvement over the 33-year-old Walker in the event that he were to say goodbye to the Etihad Stadium before the summer transfer window ends.

Compared to the City player's final season, Pavard had more clearances (83 vs 22), interceptions (44 vs 18), blocks (35 vs 12), and successful tackles (41 vs 9) in the domestic league.

From an offensive perspective, the Bayern star outperformed the England international in terms of shots on goal (34 vs. 5), important passes (19 vs. 6), and shot-creating activities (45 vs. 25).

This demonstrates how much more effective Pavard may be for Pep Guardiola's team at both ends of the field than Walker, who Neymar once referred to as "crazy" after the defender was dismissed against Paris Saint-Germain.

The France international finished his most recent Bundesliga campaign with a WhoScored performance score of 7.17/10, exceeding Walker's score of 6.54/10 for his work in the Premier League.

With all of this in mind, we believe that even if the 33-year-old decides to stay at City, it may be worthwhile to add the Bayern player to their roster in an effort to bolster their defense and improve their chances of reclaiming their three crowns from the previous season.
