Arsenal is reportedly interested in acquiring Ferran Torres from Barcelona during the summer transfer season, according to 90min.

According to the News now, Arsenal is looking for a wide winger.

Torres, a former player for Manchester City, is also on the Arsenal's short list.

In January 2022, City traded Torres to Barcelona for an initial sum of £46.3 million (News now).

Torres was referred to as "brilliant" by city manager Pep Guardiola in May 2021.

Arsenal should not sign Ferran Torres from Barcelona

Ferran Torres should not, in our opinion, be acquired by Arsenal from Barcelona during the summer transfer window.

First off, we don't believe Arsenal needs to sign any more players with an attack-first mentality.

The Gunners have perhaps even more than enough, in our opinion.

The primary attacking possibilities for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta right now are Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson, and Marquinhos.

The Gunners' top scorer is Gabriel Jesus, but they also have Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun on their roster to play up front.

Michael Olise, a star for Crystal Palace, has also been connected to the Arsenal.

Second, it would be very expensive for Arsenal to negotiate a deal with Barcelona to get Torres.

After all, Barcelona invested £46 million in the attacker and is unlikely to be eager to offload him for a low price.

You should also consider what Torres may provide Arsenal that some of the other offensive players can't.

Last year, Torres played for Barcelona in La Liga with 14 starts and 19 substitute appearances.
